Art in Clay Festival 2014 – The Setting



Each year the Franschhoek Valley celebrates the Art in Clay festival. Within the valley La Motte Museum, The Gallery at Grande Provence, The Ceramic Gallery, Art in the Yard, EBONY, IS Art and Kim Donaldson Gallery are participating showing some exquisite ceramics from various South African potters and ceramists.

The Setting – contemporary ceramic tableware on display in the La Motte maturation barrel cellar features 30 ceramic artists and studios with a special set table by The Potter’s Gallery.

Not only does Franschhoek join in the celebration of clay during November it is also Ceramic Month and part of the World Design Capital - Cape Town 2014 initiative projects the Western Cape Potters are opening their studios for the whole month of November.

If you have not yet seen The Setting at La Motte be sure to come by for a visit, to see locally produced ceramics fit for the table. Additionally 16 of the ceramists on display are presenting you with the opportunity to visit their studios till the end of November part of Open Studios.
