A Space for Landscape, the work of J.H. Pierneef



La Motte is very pleased to share six of the J.H. Pierneef paintings from the La Motte Museum Collection as part of the current retrospective exhibition A Space for Landscape, the work of JH Pierneef at the Standard Bank Gallery in Johannesburg.

The curator of the the exhibition, Wilhelm van Rensburg suggests that “public awareness of the art of J.H. Pierneef has never been at such a low point in South Africa”. La Motte has always been dedicated to the conservation of the South African art heritage and is therefore delighted to share the Pierneef works which the estate purchased from Pierneef’s daugther, Marita Baily in 2009. The works include: Rooiberg, Kaapse Plaas, Tanga, Premiermyn, Woke (1952) and Koringmark, Antwerpen.

The exhibition runs from 8 July to 12 September 2015 at the Standard Bank Gallery, Cnr Frederick and Harrison Streets, Johannesburg.

Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16.30 and Saturdays 09:00 – 13:00.
