Shiraz and all its facets – a talk on and tasting of one of South Africa’s most popular varietals showcasing its affinity for food with a guided food and wine pairing

Discover the intricacies of South African Shiraz and why it is such an exceptional partner to food during a talk and tasting on Thursday, 17 October in the La Motte Tasting Room.

Chairman of the South African Shiraz Association and La Motte Cellar Master, Edmund Terblanche will host a tasting of various Shiraz wines, explaining the influence of terroir and technique with reference to international styles.

Shiraz is also a versatile partner to food. Katinka van Niekerk, South African authority when it comes to food and wine pairing, will explain at the hand of a food and wine pairing what it is that makes Shiraz an exceptional partner on the table with guidance as to ideal pairings and problematic matches.

Pierneef à La Motte will create a special menu for guests attending the talk. Choose a meal from a special Cape Winelands Cuisine menu and enjoy with a glass of wine. Please ensure to mention whether dinner is required when making the reservation.
