La Motte and its association with Art

The La Motte brand association with art acknowledges the appreciation that its owner, Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg, has for the arts and their preservation, a passion she shares with her late parents, Dr Anton and Mrs Huberte Rupert.

La Motte’s association with Pierneef

La Motte’s association with the art of Jacob Hendrik Pierneef (1886 – 1957) dates back to early 2002, with the creation of the estate’s premium wine, the Pierneef Collection. Ever since, Pierneef’s love for that which is truly South African, as well as his passion for his art are echoed in more than just the name of this wine collection. There is also a strong synergy between La Motte and Pierneef with reference to a love for the South African landscape and nature, Afrikaans culture as well as an interest in the preservation of architecture.
