Our latest wine can celebrate its own arrival Introducing the 2007 La Motte Méthode Cap Classique Brut
La Motte, one of South Africa’s oldest and most prestigious wine estates that is home to some of South Africa’s finest wines, has just launched their first Méthode Cap Classique (MCC). The 2007 La Motte Méthode Cap Classique Brut originates from Franschhoek and is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, both of which are produced on the La Motte farm. The Chardonnay was planted in 1997 and the Pinot Noir in 1985, and the vineyards in which they are grown were SGS Certified Organic in April 2009.

Harvest time at La Motte
Bright and early on the morning of Monday, 25th January 2010, the La Motte wine estate began their 2010 harvest. Harvest began relatively late this year due to a long winter and a moderate summer, but later varietals appeared early, more than likely due to warm weather in January and a lower harvest, so the harvest was more balanced than in previous years.
