An Arty Weekend in the Franschhoek Valley

During the Franschhoek Art & Wine Weekend on 23 and 24 October, you can join us at La Motte to create your own tapestry with Andie Reeves, visit the various art exhibitions on the estate, enjoy a self-guided Sculpture Walk, attend our October Classical Music Concert or book for one of two special Wine Tasting Experiences – The Art of Wine Tasting or The Art of Wine Making.

More details below:

Threads of Synergy Art Exhibition

Threads of Synergy at the La Motte Museum presents a selection of tapestries by the Stephens Tapestry Studio and includes South-African artists Robert Hodgins, William Kentridge, Sam Nhlengethwa, Cecily Sash and Cecil Skotnes. This exhibition is centred around weaving as an artform – from spinning and dyeing the mohair, to redrawing the artwork designs for tapestry, charting the colours to the weaving process itself resulting in co-created tapestries that are exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide.
