Taste the Terroir – a celebration of Sauvignon Blanc

All contributing their unique profiles, grapes used in the complex, yet vibrant La Motte Sauvignon Blanc originate from the best Sauvignon Blanc-growing areas in the Western Cape – Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Durbanville, Darling as well as the cool-climate vineyards of Walker Bay and Elim, certified as Wine of Origin: South Coast.

Eager to share the importance of site and terroir, La Motte invites guests to join Cellarmaster Edmund Terblanche in the La Motte Cellar to taste these site-specific new vintage Sauvignon Blancs from the tanks. Guests can compare the same vintage and variety from various areas and, guided by Edmund’s expertise, will be able to identify the prolific differences.

Continuing the focus on Sauvignon Blanc, guests will be hosted to a formal tasting introducing a selection of styles and vintages that demonstrate the effect of maturation as well as the versatility of the variety. Ending on a high, Chef Michelle Theron of the acclaimed Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant will present a three-course Sauvignon Blanc-paired menu, showcasing this variety’s significance as a partner to food!

Join for a morning session with lunch, or evening session with dinner.
